The media, through all its means, is independent and performs its message freely, and its freedom may not be restricted excerpt in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the law. The practice of media work is based on the following basic rules: 1- Freedom of expression and basic freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and relevant international agreements ratified by the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic. 2- The citizen's right to obtain information related to public affairs. 3- The national and national values of Syrian society and the responsibility to spread knowledge, express the interests of the people, and protect the national identity. 4- Media work is based on using media to make media content that does not have the character of personal correspondence available to the general public or a group of it, taking into account the following basic principles: 1- Respecting freedom of expression, provided that this freedom is exercised consciously and responsibly. 2- The right of the media person to obtain and use information, taking into account the provisions contained in this law. 3- Commitment to honesty, integrity, integrity, accuracy, and objectivity in transmitting information. 4- Respecting the privacy, dignity, and rights of individuals and refraining from violating them in any way. Forms. 5- Respecting the journalistic code of honor issued by the Journalists Union. 6- Preventing the monopoly of media outlets of all kinds The laws in force relating to the protection of copyright and related rights and the protection of intellectual, commercial and industrial property rights and patents shall apply to any media content. Without prejudice to responsibility for the content published in the media outlets, the media work is not subject to prior censorship.
