In line with the state's duty to nurture and honor national talents in various fields, Minister of Information Dr. Hamza Al-Mustafa received Nardine Gerges Issa, the first-place winner of the "Arab Reading Challenge" competition at the Syrian Arab Republic level, at his office at the Ministry of Information in Damascus. Nardine, a sixth-grade student at the Arab Women's School affiliated with the Hama Education Directorate, was honored at a closing ceremony held by the Ministry of Education in Damascus. A number of ministers and a representative from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, the competition's sponsor, were also invited. Nardine is a promising talent, having previously participated in numerous media competitions and demonstrated remarkable excellence in the fields of reading and general culture. The "Arab Reading Challenge" initiative aims to instill reading, study, and academic achievement in students' lives, and to enhance the status of the Arabic language as an effective tool in the production and dissemination of knowledge.
